RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Combat System Configuration and In Service Support (CS-CISS) Engineer is a post within a small team of part of a specialist Combat System Support Engineers, whose areas of responsibility cover the management and conduct of a range of technical tasks associated with Combat System support Issues on RN submarines. The CS-CISS Engineer will join a team that has responsibility for:
*Change Impact Assessment Assistance
*Supportability Engineering Assistance
*Maintenance Requirement Management;
*Test & Trials Support;
*Provision of Domain Advice;
*Provision of Configuration Control Information;
*Provision of Operating Documentation;
*AR&M Data Analysis
*Safety Support
*Test & Trials Support
*MTE Support
Within the Combat System Support Group, the CS-CISS Engineer will report directly to the Combat System Configuration and In Service Support Group Leader. The candidate will cover tasks which will include the investigation and assessment of design, safety, process and documentation issues across combat system areas.
This post offers the opportunity to develop and enhance his Submarine Combat System knowledge and his project and man management skills while working on technical tasks within a multi-disciplined department. It is expected that the work scope will evolve to meet the needs of future combat systems and a key role will be the development of new task opportunities with the MoD customer.
Significant emphasis is placed on the ability to communicate clearly and to produce written technical reports that are clear, concise and of a good professional standard
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The applicant will be HND qualified and will preferably have a background in relevant combat system discipline. Experience of MoD working practices or familiarity with submarine design, operation and support would be of benefit.
Knowledge of MoD working practices, familiarity with submarine design and the operational aspects of submarine support would be an advantage.
Good written and oral communication skills are required with the ability to liaise confidently at all levels.
